A-League Adelaide United FC

Get Your Adelaide United Merchandise Here

The Adelaide United Football Club was founded in 2003, to take over from Adelaide City and West Adelaide in the National Soccer League. Whether you're a new fan or you've been there since the beginning, make sure you get all your Adelaide United merchandise online here. But, before you do, let's take a step back in time and explore a little of the club's history.

A Little Bit About Adelaide United

Adelaide United, commonly referred to as 'the Reds' because of their predominantly red playing kit, holds the record for the largest winning margin in an A-League game for their defeat of North Queensland Fury 8-1 in 2011. That was the first and only time to date that a single team had two players score hat-tricks in a single match. In 2014, Adelaide United Fc were the winners of the first FFA Cup, and in 2016 they won their first A-League Grand Final, beating the Western Sydney Wanderers. In 2019, they became the first team to win three FFA Cup titles.

The original playing strip was made using SA's three state colours: red, blue, and yellow. This is incorporated on their crest in a stylised swoosh. Sitting on top of that is a football featuring the Southern Cross stars instead of hexagonal shapes. The 'Reds' 20/21 jersey remains predominantly red but is patterned with some darker shades of red. There's also deep blue staged across the upper body and shoulders, which is a homage to the SA state colours with a retro twist. Thin yellow trim around the sleeves and the v-neck, also add to this. Plus, you'll note the club mantra 'More Than Football' inscribed across the bottom seam of the jersey. Make sure you have the latest Adelaide City merchandise this year, available from The Stubby Club.
